My own personal opinion
|
Transplace is a growing company who one day may become the place to go and work for but unless you are there to just get a paycheck, look elsewhere. Some of the people in the Lowell office are knowledgable but there are many account managers that know very little about what is truly going on within supply chain, they are only focused on staying under the radar and making money for the company through brokerage. Thinking outside of the box is frowned upon even if it's a WIN for their accounts, they do not want to do anything extra because they don't want to add more work. Lastly, joining Transplace was exciting until I learned how they work and what they are after operationally. There is no progression outside of the job you get hired for. New positions do not come open very often and of the new jobs that do come open, leaders within the organization already have their people who they want to promote and will not entertain anyone else. Transplace has alot of potential but the Senior leaders within the organization are not as engaged as they should be or else they would see how bad it is on the ground. HR is less than 5 people and have way too much on their plate to make a difference.... In short, if you are not looking to progress in your career OR on your last few years before retirement, this is the place to work.

Pay is good but Management is not
|
I was excited when I started here but was quickly disappointed. Management does not adequately supervise and if you need help you’re on your own. The Tech Data team was the worst. They only gave me two days of training then left me on my own. They jumped all over me for not doing something that I didn’t know I was supposed to be doing. I was furloughed without any prior notice that this could happen then was brought back and put on a different team than what I was hired for. I was then laid off after a month and a half but I was glad because I was extremely unhappy on the Tech Data team. Management plays favorites and HR is a joke.

Productive yet fun atmosphere

II looked forward to going to work every day. Each day was a different challenge with the woes that come along with rail transportation. A great job in Customer Service I really enjoyed, one of which I had hoped to retire from until, Covid-19 that is. Unfortunately, our office was permanently closed.

It was productive but management was really inconsiderate
|
People would be absent most times. Management was good but had a lot of issues with scheduling there was no coordination. You would get there and if somebody didn’t show up you had to double shift. It’s a great place to work if you don’t have responsibilities you can miss any day and still have a job. If your short on people well you get double work and it doesn’t matter because things needed to get done.

A waste of time
|
This company is full of people who do not know what they are doing. Management is hard to contact about anything good or bad. Retaliation for reporting bad behavior of management is the managers go out of their way to not talk to you or even look at you, sometimes they even hid from me. I definitely would not recommend worki g here.

i loved working at Transplace, however there's a lot of in house politics that take place there. Too many changes take place way to often. People are nice and friendly, but will stab you in the back in a heartbeat.
