A truly global and tight-knit group of people who are very driven to make a meaningful difference in consumer trends. Flexibility. There are high-stress periods when all hands are on deck as the manner of the business the company is in. (But also there are periods where there's the opposite where you can reflect). private:trendwatching.com https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=954092 Jun 23rd, 2016 12:00AM Open Open TrendWatching Analyst Hard-working, tightly-knit and exciting organization Very global team, everyone is truly interesting. Roles can develop into one of many different directions - if you are ambitious enough! Impressive client base to work with across all B2C industries. Total transparency around company revenue, costs, goals, strategy etc. Flexible about working from home (or abroad) and setting your own schedule. Company constantly looking to improve business model/brand/culture/process etc. There are work emails flying around on the weekend (while you are not expected to reply, not everyone is thrilled by it) A few VERY high pressure weeks (ok, months) arise every year due to the big events and seasonality of the business model. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 954092 Open Largely, keep it up! But also... Super ambitious targets mean that frequently, smaller wins are not celebrated and instead feel like let-downs. Team morale would benefit from making more of our accomplishments. 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 0.0 May 1st, 2021 11:21PM May 1st, 2021 11:21PM Trendwatching.com
private:trendwatching.com https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=954092 Mar 15th, 2016 12:00AM Open Open TrendWatching Badly managed Working at this small start up began positively. Everyone there is very friendly and interesting to speak to. The whole team makes an effort to make newcomers feel welcome and they really do think big where ambition is concerned. Working at Trendwatching is at the best times, stressful and at the worst times, a drain on your entire life. Emails are fired around from management late at night and over the weekend and work-life balance doesn't really appear to be a thing amongst management. Because the company is so small, responsibilities fall across everyone and the effect of bad management is felt by the whole team. Often, tasks aren't assigned to any single person - leading to confusion and to a lack of awareness of everyone's individual roles. Certain managers, having worked at the company for a number of years, seem to lack the ability to take on even their own responsibilities, preferring to scatter the menial tasks they don't like to do amongst newer members of the team. When things don't get done (something that happens often at this company), it's usually because they were never assigned to someone. Tasks are never 'owned' by one person here, but rather, thrown out and expected to be 'picked up.' If concerns are raised, management tend to take things personally. There's no HR so any concerns do have to be given to management - who will then instantly become defensive. -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 1.0 2.0 1.0 4.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 954092 Open Calm down. Assign tasks to members of the team and don't take offence if the company comes under criticism. Understand that people have a life outside of work - even if you don't. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 0.0 May 1st, 2021 11:21PM May 1st, 2021 11:21PM Trendwatching.com
private:trendwatching.com https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=954092 Feb 4th, 2015 12:00AM Open Open TrendWatching London, England, England Overworked, underpaid but great people and exciting projects As a start-up company you get to work on an environment full of dynamism. The team is great, very hard working, fun and ready to help each other. Undoubtedly, the best asset at trendwatching.com it's the people. Following this, comes the nature of the business, working with trends, insights and innovation is fun, there is always space for learning and the job allows a great deal of creative freedom/thinking. Another good thing are the lately implemented Friday-Fun activities, where in compensation for the hard work, one Friday every 1 or 2 months the team is taken out for an activity with a budget of £20 per person. Unfortunately, bad management decisions at early stages made the company to almost collapse financially, just after an incredibly busy period where everyone worked insanely to deliver a new product. The team spirits were at the lowest as the management team suspended most of the employees contracts for 2 months, with the promise of a later reward which never happened. During the last 2 years, the company has had a turnover of over 16 employees, most of them were never replaced and many had to take on the responsibilities of an extra role, in spite of not getting promoted or compensated in any way for the effort and long hours. You are expected to and will for sure work weekends and late evenings without being paid for the extra hours. Finally, compensation and benefits are almost non-existing. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 3.0 1.0 4.0 4.0 1.0 3.0 954092 Open Don't over-work people or take advantage of their willingness to go the extra mile. A very recurrent mistake is starting with new products and new initiatives without having the resources and setting ridiculous deadlines for them. Therefore people end up having to focus on new projects whilst still trying to do all their monthly tasks, and coming back home feeling their life is miserable. Secondly, focus on improving the main source of revenue instead of focusing on the development of free products, or ones with low ROI. Makes no sense! 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 2.0 May 1st, 2021 11:21PM May 1st, 2021 11:21PM Trendwatching.com
