It is a really good place to start and there are many opportunities for Erasmus and other types of scholarships.
|
The buildings of almost all Faculties in the University are old and smelly and crowded. There is no such thing as your personal office or at least a private locker somewhere.
If you want to reach Professor level, you must wait up to probably 20 years or more, even if you resume says you're ready for it. You must literally wait in a nepotism line before you get any position here.

Only 20-25% of students are studying for free, on Government-paid seats, while the rest are paying taxes for their seats, giving the University tens, if not hundreds, of millions of euros every year. Nonetheless, the buildings, services and equipment offered to professors are decades old. The classrooms professors are using here could be the janitor's locker in any civilized country.
Everything at this University should be according to the money they receive.

Really nice teachers and students, professional satisfaction, good work/life balance. Really nice students to work with.

Salary is a joke as in all state universities in Romania, working conditions are not great sometimes due to money, no money for conferences and international contests and even if the money are there you have to waste valuable time to obtain it.
