Generous holiday allowance. New VC appears to be committed to improving staff wellbeing. The Estates management team do not listen to employees. Large number of over-paid Directors and Managers brought in from outside the University who have no understanding of how the University works. Lots of talk about improving staff conditions and culture, very little put into practice. Little opportunity to progress. ‘Jobs for the boys’ culture. Some truly terrible appointments of inexperienced and incompetent managers within EstateServices. FD HR ignores reports of bullying/inappropriate behaviour of managers and sides with management-not really interested in staff wellbeing. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NO_OPINION 0.0 3.0 3.0 2.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 35515 Open Senior managers must engage with Estates staff by listening and and respecting their experience of working on campus and take their views into consideration, other than just ignoring and resenting staff who have been in post longer than five years as they currently do! Too much focus on Sustainablity and not enough on engaging with operational staff and supporting people in Estates who actually plan and deliver work. Please stop ignoring ‘difficult to tackle issues’ and gaps in knowledge and skills of managers and the provision of services on offer before a serious incident occurs!
