The university continuously cuts the research budget and shifts towards courses as they bring more money. Especially when international students are recruited. The university rank has plummeted over the years. The time is not flexible, and you should work during the exact office hour, even more. There are thousands of employees so there are lots of opportunities to interact and learn from people. Benefits and perqs are terrific, and the pace of work is great if you're not one for excitement. Diversity and inclusion are actively encouraged and if you're politically liberal you will find common cause with the faculty & (most) staff. The pros can also be considered cons. It's an extremely conservative (from a change standpoint) place to work as it can take years to see progress. Universities aren't known for breakneck speed.
