Its very satisfying when the patients respond to the Clinical Research Drug, In most cases management cares about its employees. There is favoritism in many areas. But, everyone still works together. I enjoyed working with the people in Otorhinolaryngology, they became my good friends and we had one of the best teams at Penn. Benefits are fine, vacation and sick days were fine, Co workers were great. Not much room for advancement. Job security and great benefits. Not much room for advancement. Was there for more than ten years and had the same boss for ten years. Worked with people in other departments who were also there a long time in the same position. Benefits include tuition for your child/children if there for more than three years (not room and board). Your child can get tuition at Penn, but other accredited Universities. There is a formula to figure out how much tuition will be paid out. Benefits and week off between Christmas and New Years. Stay long enough life time benefits. In my case, was paid once a month. I have never witnessed such controlled workplace abuse in my life. Everyone from the housekeepers to the managers are only worry about themselves. You are in a union so you dont lose your job but at the same time they take complete advantage of you. They don't care about anything but the money the students bring in. Run from this place as far as you can! Top heavy with senior positions that have had the same person in them for decades. However if you need great benefits then this is the place to work. Many people stay for decades, so advancement opportunities can be limited, but the job security and benefits are great. Great pay for higher education.
