Advancement is hard, almost non existent. Nepotism is a huge issue and the same 5 people are the epicenter of everything. HR proves that they are employer protection not employee. Keep your head down, like someone else stated. When people leave, they split duties instead of hiring someone new, the do not stand by the extra duty pay. The setting is positive, and the colleagues are supportive and encouraging. The pay and professional development opportunities for faculty vary greatly between colleges and departments, which is unfair and does not allow those under-funded to advance. I loved going to work everyday but it did not pay very well. I would work only when there was an athletic event at the University. I would help execute the marketing script for each event. Other duties would include operating a camera when needed for the online live stream.
