Don't Waste Your Time
|
|
There are some great team members within the company.
|
Notice how the majority of positive reviews have no cons and are vague? Have you ever had a job with no cons at all? It is further proof that management can't help but lie, not only to their employees but to customers. Marketing collateral and the company site make promises that aren't reflected in their agreements and the sales team is instructed to sell on these false promises.
Uscreen's culture can only be described as "two faced". They will repeatedly tell you they value your feedback then turn around and tell you everything you think is wrong. You will be told that they will right their mistakes, help you when you need, and are always there for you only to repeatedly fall short.
From a sales perspective, management has no outside experience and fully believes that feature dumping and proactive discounting is the only way to close deals.
From a management perspective, leaders again have no outside experience, micromanage, make false promises, have incredibly poor communication and problem solving skills and will change ROE at a whim for their own benefit.
When it comes to benefits you will be disappointed. No holidays, no 401k, terrible health insurance, no phone or WFH stipend, no team activities or happy hours, not even a shirt with the logo on it.
As you interview, you will hear promises for growth opportunities, a healthy pool of quality leads, and a strong culture. Be wary and take the other reviews into consideration.

Actually listen to your employees ideas, concerns and suggestions instead of getting defensive and dismissing all feedback to later make those same changes months later. Consider active listening.
In your fake reviews, at least try to make them look real and thought out.

Work load is low, flexible scheduling.

False expectations during interview process as to what the role truly is. Leadership caught in lies multiple times, quota changes every month and commission is based on percentage of quota you close so you never know what to expect and aren't paid fairly. Leadership has no outside sales experience outside of Uscreen and only uses discounting and feature dumping as sales techniques. Benefits are practically non existent and there are no real growth opportunities or opportunities to improve in your career. Unlimited PTO isn't actually unlimited. You will be bogged down with internally meetings that are redundant and don't help your day to day. No discovery or notes on hardly any meetings even though it is "required" by SDRs.

This company desperately a sales director not a COO who makes podcasts and leaders who have had experience at other companies. The whole sales process internally and externally is unstructured and incredibly ineffective.

Really love the culture and collaborative nature.

Company is still growing and as a result things can sometimes be slightly disorganized and a bit chaotic. That said, it's a fun environment to be in if you're into the small startup style business.

Good work environment
|
|
Privately-owned company, CEO is not pressured to "keep margins at all costs" and shed job positions to please shareholders or VC (Vulture Capitalists) Transparent attitude towards company direction. Dynamic company with a product being developed at breakneck speed. Crosshairs on the fast-growing content creator economy! People have opportunity to contribute and grow to other positions. Very open to 100% remote positions, digital nomads. Overall a very good work environment.

Good team
|
|
The people are the best part! Was lucky enough to make some really great friends in my time at Uscreen. The benefits also improved quite a bit. The CEO cares a lot about the company which shows in all-hands calls.
|
Diversity in leadership could use a lot of improvement. The company could better support/advocate for important social causes over logo changes that last only a few months. There didn’t seem to be enough support for employees who work in a silo. Salaries brought up to market rate would also be an improvement. Company culture + activities could use a refresh.

Hiring a DEI manager would be a really smart move. Uscreen has already grown and improved a lot. Keep focusing on the team (and their needs) and they will take care of the customer.

Disappointing

Unlimited PTO, solid product. Finally stopped using hubstaff to track employees. Good people on the team.

Below market pay, non existent onboarding, lackluster culture. CEO makes questionable jokes. Closed off C suite.

Don’t treat less senior staff as dispensable, because high churn will follow. Pay more competitively. Hiring another “good ‘ol boy” for C suite is a bad idea.

Upper Management Needs to Value Employees More and Show More Respect for Them
|
|
Uscreen has an amazing product, it's easy to feel excited and knowledgeable when interacting with customers.
I would give this place a 5 star review if it wasn't for the many negatives that outweigh the positives.
The teams consist of incredibly talented, knowledgeable and friendly people. Some of the best teams I have ever worked with.
Remote is of course a huge plus as well.
|
This company is not a start up, as they will claim during the hiring process. They have 200+ employees across the globe and 1,000 + customers. They will use this excuse to underpay employees.
They significantly underpay and understaff certain departments, have a non existent onboarding process for new hires and overwork them as well. It's interesting that they claim to lead with "empathy" when their actions toward customer facing roles say otherwise. Their actions give an impression more along the lines of "we will give you negative feedback and give you outrageous quotas to encourage you to 'work even harder.' If we give you positive feedback and don't micromanage you (btw, your laptop is not provided and you will have screenshots taken of your activity every 10 minutes while you are on the clock), you'll probably slack off. Also, if you don't meet our outrageous quotas or you make a mistake, we will fire you." I have seen this happen to many people at the company.
They have unlimited PTO, but what is the point of that if you are just going to dread coming back to even more work after your time off? It seems like it's not even worth it because you will fall so far behind after taking time off.
Valuable employees are being let go left and right (for really generic and unreasonable causes), Uscreen is also now in a hiring freeze .. so all existing employees are left with more work, on top of their existing accounts and new orders coming in every day. More pay? Nope.
Just a complete lack of respect for employees that they would not be able to exist without. This is common practice for many companies but that doesn't make it acceptable, especially for a company that claims to be progressive and "empathetic" toward their workers.
TERRIBLE BENEFITS. Pretty much nothing for insurance is covered by the company. You will need to pay for your benefits out of pocket if you are located in the US (not sure how it works in other countries).
Do better, Uscreen.
