Good foot in the door for government work, but thats it.

Good pay, easy work, and the hours are great if you want to have a typical 8-5 schedule.
|
Favoritism, poor leadership. The only people that advance are people that want to be political. Hard workers get more work and passed over for opportunities while people that work the politics get all the perks. If you are a hard worker, hire on with the USMS, do your fed time for a few years, but transfer to another agency that will take better care of their employees, and provide better leadership.

Promote better supervisors and train better leadership so that your people under you have someone to follow and look to. The agency still has the old school mentality "good ol boy" system that needs to be addressed. Its gotten a bit better, but overall is still very prevalent. If you continue to allow this culture, you will continue to burn out the good workers, who will end up looking for employment elsewhere.
