Nothing more, nothing less than a way to make some money. It seems a little ridiculous that you can watch YouTube all day, but doing homework is not of value to them so they won't let you do it.

Archaic in Every Way
|
I worked in a staff assistant role. The office was archaic, disorganized, and issues with the computers and technology were commonplace. I had absolutely no autonomy, the pay was terrible for the amount of work that was expected, all with little to no chance of raises or advancement. It was truly mind boggling, honestly, and I wish I had never seen "behind the curtain," so-to-speak, because I no longer feel a sense of excitement and wonder when visiting campus as before.
I think someone who can be a "puppet" would do well, or someone who can punch the clock, do the tasks at hand without giving it too much extra thought, and leave it all behind at the end of the day. That just isn't me, and it clearly didn't work out.

Great coworkers but don’t expect high pay or nice calls
|
The company culture is great. Everyone is nice and welcoming for the most part. Handling calls from students and parents can be stressful, especially during registration time. Some people are rude but it’s expected. The work life balance is great! Once you go home you don’t have to worry about it. However, the compensation isn’t the best. Paying for parking is a downer, but the health insurance is pretty good.

Being a Resident Advisor was one of the most fulfilling jobs I have ever had. The housing advisor always makes sure everyone is treated fairly and is a very honest person. Although there were seldom stressful situations, during those situations, you felt so much support.

The Registrar’s office at USU could be a nice place to work, but their management is terrible. From the highest Registrar to the lowest supervisor they’re incompetent, inconsiderate, degrading, and at times, abusive.

I have no regrets on working here. This is a perfect place to work while you're attending school, they are very accommodating with your school schedule. All the staff was so wonderful and treated me like I was family.
