It's a scale up, so people should expect growing pains, mistakes to be made, and not everything to be figured out. If that's what you expect, go work for an established corporation.
Layoffs hamper morale and reputation and it's unfortunate that the company blindly kept hiring when revenue growth was not tracking to plan. I hope they don't make that mistake again. Nonetheless, the company handled layoffs with empathy and treated people well on the way out -- good work.
Too often looking for a new senior leader hire to "fix" things, rather than promoting from within.
