Being acquired by Visa makes sure it stays a float and maybe gets better in a year's time. MAYBE

The issue is the leadership and uninformed ego driven product managers who don't even know how to use the product they are "managing". They are so focused on meeting goals and numbers when 75% of the product remains broken and usable. Arcane processes and communication style with customers.. So they hire people to keep the problems at bay threw hours of manual work because the product team can't figure out how the product actually works since all the tenure staff quit.
They literally hire people in support and some other related departments to act as the escape goats to fixing product issues because they don't want to invest the resources in actually fixing issues because it will expose how bad everything under the hood is built
They pay the hardest working employees way less then those just scheduling meetings all day.

Listen to your reports . They see everything and have to respond to your customers with lies and false hope on a daily basis. No degree or experience is going to change that.
Literally just spend some time bring the products and services in to the 21st century so your client support and ops teams can work on their actual skills, not just band-aiding your problems until they are so stressed out they rather be unemployed then deal with the unnecessary stress of problems that should not exist.

Awesome people and Matt Katz is one of the best CEO's ever.

Micromanagers as bosses in the accounting department. Favoritism was rampant and passive aggressiveness on every corner. Work was easy, but the people were not. If you're strong enough to maneuver difficult bosses, high expectations and little guidance then I'd recommend working at Verifi. Also, be careful going forward because Verifi has been acquired by VISA and your employment status will be at risk (No matter what Verifi says otherwise).

* There are some excellent, highly knowledgable senior engineeers who know what's up. They and the company help bring more junior folks up to speed
* Lots of opportunities to work with the latest tech. We're not stuck on Java 6 here.
* Great work/life balance. The company tries to keep people engaged with workout programs, tech talks, food, parties and community service opportunities
* CEO and CTO like to play poker (not just as a hobby; they've formed businesses and written books about it) so if that's your thing, this is your place

No cons specific to this company; honestly, the company does things pretty well. Every engineering organization has challenges with tech debt, management, timelines, hiring, and stewardship of complicated tasks. We have those too. I look at these as an opportunity to help improve the company.
