private:versent https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1725373 Mar 24th, 2021 12:00AM Open Open Versent (Australia) Lead Engineer (Managed Services) Sydney It's not too bad... - Good engineers who are always willing to help and support in any way they can - Good exposure to a wide variety of AWS services through many different client accounts - Good learning resources to help you gain certifications for career development - Good office. However it is empty most of the time now due to most people working from home these days (Covid) which is a shame - Flexible working - Rewarded for hard work Plenty of fake 5 star reviews. I mean.. you could have at least made it believable too, 10 or so 5 star reviews within a week? errr yeh...sure. It's so dam obvious. Somebody never learnt how to change their report card in school. D turns into a B so easily... Onto some legitimate negative feedback. - Managed services is under staffed due to managements obsession with margins and not customer service. Amazon was built on customer service, you would think we would be taking a leaf from their book. - Because of the above point, you will be busy, very busy. I hope you like being busy. - The work life balance is poor. They will preach "work life balance" rubbish during interviews, but the reality is they have absolutely nothing to back it up with. It's all fluff. They particularly don't staff with work life balance in mind, they staff based on margins and margins alone. - Severe lack of high level technical direction and strategy within managed services. - Business focus is on Stax, and all other areas such as managed services are just a means to an end to support this mindset. The problem being is that Stax is just bang on average. AWS will gulp this up eventually and it will become redundant. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 NO_OPINION 6.0 3.0 2.0 3.0 3.0 3.0 2.0 1725373 Open Managed services could be so much more with the required support from upper management, but it seems the desire and focus is just not there. Your service quality is dropping and customers are starting to call this out. You will lose clients eventually if you don't lift your game. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 2.0 May 7th, 2021 10:36PM May 7th, 2021 10:36PM Versent

Great clients 3. Strong management 4. Strong products/services 5. Strong partnership with AWS 6. Ability to work from home for all staff 100% of the time (March 2020 - Present) 1. Incredibly fast paced (can be too fast unless one throttles the amount of work they commit to) The fact that the business is growing fast is a two edged sword. On one side it allows for great opportunities, and exciting work, and on the other side it can be tiring at times. (It is not a con per se, but rather something to be aware of) 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 2.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 1725373 Open Keep looking after the people, and the people will keep delivering great work. private:versent https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1725373 Feb 25th, 2021 12:00AM Open Open Versent (Australia) Senior Engineer Melbourne From Done Done to Dun Dun Some excellent, genuine, smart people that work there that are passionate about the technology. Interesting work in the data space. Flexible WFH has been good. Horrible middle management and strange organisation structure prevents remediation of any real issues. Some massive egos, one middle manager in particular that smiles and pretends to listen but is secretly wondering how best become CEO. Refocus away from lift and shift work. You used to be the top tier company to talk to about APIs and commercialising them. Focus away from that has really hurt the value of the brand. Leave the mundane migration work to Accenture. -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 1.0 APPROVE 4.0 2.0 4.0 2.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1725373 Open Restructure and purge the middle management. private:versent https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=1725373 Feb 25th, 2021 12:00AM Open Open Versent (Australia) Engineer Sydney Don't trust the 5-star reviews here on Glassdoor Many great reviews here on Glassdoor. Oh wait, they've all been written around the same time. And they didn't get any upvotes, unlike the honest reviews... In one sentence: Building a good company culture is hard, losing it is easy. Versent is not 'a family' any more and has lost its culture of transparency and openness years ago. For example, people have tried to start an internal discussion about the points raised in the not-so-glorious reviews here on Glassdoor but were shut down. Instead, there are series of 5-star reviews appearing out of nowhere. I wouldn't even have thought that's possible when I joined Versent a few years ago. 'That's not how Versent works' is what I would have said. When things don't go as planned they are kept behind closed doors. E.g. when we did not become "AWS Partner of the year" for the first time in many years it wasn't even worth a single word of internal communication. So much for openness. These days, it's all about shifting the business to the right (investing in product work as this has a greater impact on the company value). Senior management has been filled up with people coming from big enterprises, having a very different take on how a company culture should look. So there's a 'shout-out' channel on Slack now, and everyone gets bombed with links to generic LinkedIn softkill training videos. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but it seems a lot like someone trying to fix a problem they didn't even understand. On the technical side, Versent is suffering from a massive churn. Most of the good people have left, those who remain are either part of the furniture or have made their peace with the changes and keep their heads low. Hiring standards have dropped. Unfortunately, shifting right has created silos of decoupled teams with virtually no communication, let alone collaboration. I don't think it's a good work environment. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 4.0 1.0 2.0 1.0 1.0 3.0 1.0 1725373 Open Acknowledge reality and stop saying that Versent has an open culture of trust. 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 0.0 May 7th, 2021 10:36PM May 7th, 2021 10:36PM Versent

There are great support mechanisms to lean on and people are kind, warm and open. The majority of people work from home (as far as I can tell), and there appears to be a strong foundation to support that into the future. There are plenty of people that are also working in the office - so it's a good mix across the board depending on your preference. Being relatively new - I can't say I have encountered any cons as yet. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 1.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 1725373 Open 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 1.0 May 7th, 2021 10:36PM May 7th, 2021 10:36PM Versent
