VideoDonor features real people's experiences and seeks to raise the awareness of organ and blood donation through real life stories of defeat and hope, hurting and bliss and acts of self-sacrifice - the emotions and experiences that are at the heart of organ donation and transplantation.
Today, more than 115,000 people in the UK and United States, and millions more around the globe, are waiting for heart, kidney or liver transplant that will save their lives," the VideoDonor announcement reads. "Many of those people -- an average of 19 people per day -- will die waiting, because there simply aren't enough organ donors to meet the need.
VideoDonor's platform will preserve the transformative stories of donors or donor family members and the transplant recipients who have received these life-saving gifts, by hosting personal stories of strength and courage, donors and donor families can honor their lives and the lives of their loved ones, and recipients can more deeply express gratitude for the magnitude of the gift they have been given."
