Avoid, working here is The BIGGEST mistake of my career
|
|
Nice office, free lunch on Fridays, folks invested in DEI and volunteering (VidMob gives does good work)
|
— This company is spiraling down the drain. There have been 4 surprise layoffs in the last 1.5 years, marketing and strategy were gutted. Most talent has been made redundant, quit, or is looking for the door.
— Leadership is trying to unload the SaaS product, the rest of the company is run on a skeleton crew.
— The surviving PMs and creative strategists are overworked and led by out to lunch managers more concerned with office politics.
— To keep things afloat they hire new people at lower salaries than those they laid off, lying about roles and responsibilities to get anyone in the door.
— Agency folks: is a career dead end! they no longer do actual Strategy here. You will be an account person making analysis reports all day. No book worthy work
— Everyone is trying to get out before the next surprise layoffs (they "promise" no more, 4th times the charm, right?) I would quit if the market weren't so bad.

Due Diligence Needed - Lipstick on a Pig
|
|
CEO has a silver tongue and managed to get them some more funding which will last them another two years.
The company has a lot of people aged 20-35 people want to be friends and hangout.
WFH and unlimited PTO
|
Unlimited PTO - you take a few days off and they've gone ahead and changed directions and are playing catch up
There is no vision or strategy. Don't let the AI/ML buzzwords fool you "Intelligent Creative". If you're even looking at this company. Do yourself, and try the product. Oh wait, you can't try it because it's a sales led motion that takes 2 weeks for customers to onboard.
Once, you're on it. You'll see for yourself that it's completely useless unless your whole team is onboarded and you have a singular person dedicated to figuring it out.
The client solutions teams uses the product more than the clients to craft pretty powerpoint decks.
There's no innovation in giving customers actionable insights.
Mobile app is obsolete.
It's a feature factory where the company builds for the loudest customers.
Engineers are grossly underpaid and come from bootcamps. Product/engineering doesn't understand what system design is, which leads to moving launch dates.
Their core product is creative analytics and scoring and are constantly watching CreativeX and trying to prevent threatening customers from going elsewhere. There are a million feature requests and I swear they pick from a hat.
Middle management is full of overweight white men who are unable to take direction and lead with conviction.
Outright condescending, and political environment.
Don't let the allure of people coming from 'Google or Meta' into this company fool you.
Sales/Marketing is constantly future selling and creating a backlog for the Product/Design/Engineering teams.
User Research/Copy team? There is none.
The weekly all hands is Alex (CEO) saying a bunch of buzzwords and failing at motivating the low morale of the company.
DEI is a joke, I'd say there's a ruff 20 people who identify as non-white. They highlight DEI abilities in the product but really it's a bunch of people labeling.
The partnerships with large companies is keeping their name relevant

You're 3 rounds of layoffs in 2023 isn't how you treat employees who have give you multiple years of service. Even if they sell only the greedy leadership will come out with a dirty penny.
Promotions? People will threaten to leave and they give them a carrot to stay.
Severance is a joke - 1 month and will cut your health insurance.
Have a vision and true product market fit.
This company has changed directions 20 times and their burn rate is coming to an end. Finance was incredibly incapable of actually calculating the archaic diverse set of contracts.

Disheartening Workplace Experience: Broken Promises, Lack of Leadership Transparency, and Unfulfilled Potential
|
|
I valued the standard employee benefits offered, including 401K matching, healthcare, and a flexible work-from-home policy. I overall enjoyed working with my peers and managers.
|
My experience at the company was marked by several significant challenges, and as someone accustomed to the fast-paced nature of startup culture, I found this particular company lacking both vision and structure. The considerable gap between the visionary image presented to investors and clients and the actual product quality left me disheartened and frustrated. There was a noticeable leadership disconnect, with the leadership team lacking alignment with the company's progress, and the struggle to understand the construction of promised platform capabilities added to the overall sense of confusion. Financial mismanagement, including irresponsible decisions like a preference for employee stock, directly impacted the potential financial upside for employees like me. Trust in leadership eroded further due to frequent contradictions, poor decisions, and a perceived lack of genuine adherence to company values. The CEO's insincere speech during layoffs and the subsequent celebration of Series D after such a challenging period left me questioning the authenticity of leadership. The absence of a clear vision, frequent strategy changes, and a pattern of layoffs contributed to an unstable work environment, and the departure of respected leaders (both female and male in different departments) signaled a sinking ship. Additionally, cultural issues, including instances of a non-inclusive culture, gossip, and team members badmouthing each other, collectively impacted my overall workplace experience negatively.

I recommend aligning your actions with promises, ensuring trust among employees and investors. Rebuilding trust requires you, as a leader, to execute plans effectively, prioritize transparency, and address concerns raised by your team. Prioritizing responsible financial practices, avoiding preferences over employee stock, and making decisions for long-term success are key for your strategic financial management. Acknowledging the importance of addressing diversity, team dynamics, and communication within your team is crucial for cultural transformation. Providing a clear and consistent vision, avoiding frequent strategy changes, and making decisions for stability are actions you should prioritize for the long-term success of your company.

|
|
Great people work here, really kind and easy to work with.
|
There is a noticeable lack of growth opportunities, hindering professional development, while the leadership direction raises apprehensions about strategic vision and effective management. The company's culture is marked by secrecy, creating an environment with limited transparency and communication. Additionally, the occurrence of multiple rounds of surprise layoffs introduces significant job insecurity, impacting overall morale and job satisfaction.
