What once was great is now in question
|
Years ago, I left one HIV company and came to Viiv. What a great choice I made, or so I thought. The training, the products, the people were all focused on the patients. Great pipeline. Over a year ago, a new sales leader was brought in and what once was a specialty sales organization began to turn into a primary care model. Did some changes need to be made.Yes. This drastic. No.
Now the focus is call activity, an overabundance of role plays and no attention to the nuances of the job or the marketplace. Competitors know that Viiv is not what is used to be. I am sure they chuckle at the gaffs the company has made. The sad part is management is quick to put the blame on the reps. Now it's "if you don't like the changes, perhaps this is not the place for you to work". Instead of collaboration and adjusting to the times, it's "get it done our way" or you jeopardize your employment. Leadership has made questionable, at the least, decisions on marketing, tactics and morale. They only care about the numbers and not the culture The culture used to be one that you woke up everyday knowing you were going to make a difference. Today, the culture is one of where can I find the next organization that values my skill set and expertise because Viiv sure doesn't. One part of the country has one set of expectations while the other side has a different set of expectations. I pray someone from on high at GSK takes a long hard look at Viiv and make changes so it can get back to the way it used to. A company worth working for.

Management is not good. Inconsistency with direction. Feels like a primary care job now.

Great intent but leadership changes have hurt
|
ViiV is one of the most patient centric companies and they care just as much about their employees. They want to do the right thing but after having major leadership turnover in the past few years, the strategic direction has been lost. At least in my area of the organization, no one wants to provide clear direction and they cannot make a decision, it is like the Wild Wild West. I hope the wonderful intent that is there eventually wins out over the chaotic and misguided direction, or lack thereof.

Strong company with the feel of a small startup. Good culture and team environment. Unfortunately it is a requirement to live within the geography and this is not consistently enforced.

Lot's of new changes at ViiV Healthcare some good and some not so good. ViiV is doing very well as a company but unfortunately because the parent company GSK is not as successful much of the employee perks and benefits have been cut. ie low yearly raises, low bonus, and other expense when traveling for the company.

Great Pay not much of an Atmosphere

It is an open office floor plan which is supposed to encourage conversation but usually doesn't. It is a desk job so your butt will get sore. The pay is great and the people are nice, but as an intern there was almost no work to do.
