Okay, until you try to leave

While an employee, it was a decent place to work. My lead was polite and friendly. They were well organized. They treated employees with dignity and respect for their individual needs.
|
There seemed to not be enough work to go around. There were periods of time that were not very fulfilling.
If you are a good employee and decide to leave, be prepared for a good amount of flak, threats of negative employment record, and insults to your integrity as a person and professional.
I was disappointed with being told by the VP that I would have a black mark on my record. And that when the company went after the contract I was going to and won it, that they would remember my choosing to leave.It caused me quite a bit of concern that the company and it's leadership would speak negatively of me, negatively impacting future employment prospects with other agencies or contracts.
I was called into an office and had many false inferences made about my integrity by the PM 10 minutes after submitting my notice to resign. They walked me out after two days, citing the lack of need to keep it going in light of how I am leaving.
They did not adhere to their termination guidelines and have not paid me my accrued benefits. I had requested an opportunity to speak with HR leadership regarding the things that were said. The reply of the person I was speaking to was, "maybe later, she's very busy." That was 3 weeks ago.

Don't threaten employees on their way out. That's the only advice I can offer. There were a lot of great things about the company and its leadership that were destroyed in one conversation and phone call. Leaving that awesome team was difficult, until I submitted my notice.

This company hired me on with no experience, and is training me in a field I've been wanting to work in for a while but was unable to do to weirdness of life. The employees are fun and friendly, the management is humble and approachable, the work is interesting and challenging. Everyone who works here speaks of this place in a very positive light, and turnover is extremely low. Everyone seems to really like each other.

Work at home option is difficult to come by. Also, I know this is a positive for a lot of folks, especially in the IT world, but the dress code here is very casual. M-Th is casual, and then every Friday is dress down day. I prefer professional dress, but that's just me.
