great place to work but poor management
|
Great people and atmosphere at this company, however the management does not make decisions based on the facts. They don't take the time to nurture their wonderful employees, therefore have a high turnover. This company has all the potential if they would consider the valuable input of the employees and what they experience daily first hand.

Wouldn't have worked there if I knew before

Job Work/Life Balance: In my department you have to be ready to sacrifice weekends and/or work odd hours. It is really if it fits your lifestyle or not. What I personally hated was inconsistent shifts across the week...
Compensation/Benefits: Average considering the amount of work they want you to do, the stress management put you under and the benefits.
They recently moved from a 10 days PTO to an unlimited one which is a huge step forward. But as usual with sneaky management, in my case nobody told me that because I was being recruited under the old policy but it was changed and communicated before I started and I couldn't take days off because I did not know. They only told me when I ask...and I find that pretty shady.
Job Security/Advancement: Make sure you have a back up plan.
Management: The worst...Micromanaging, shady habits, inconsiderate, sneaky, will lie to you in your face and will gladly backstab you whenever they have the opportunity. Well only speaking about Support Department here, that would be unfair to the other teams...I don't know.
Job Culture: Rosy at first, when you start looking under the hood, not that good. What I Can say for sure is that they were plenty of great individual in the company I enjoyed working with. It just took a couple of them to make me want to leave...And as far as the job itself, not at all what I expected. No structure, it just about go ahead and figure things out yourself with little information available. But they will gladly blame it on you if you don't.

There was no work life balance, No guidance or standard process. Management seemed more concerned with their promotions than they weee with developing the team.

Founder is incredibly bright and a whirlwind of energy. Too many political forces working against him for the company to truly succeed. Recent funding looks designed to sell the company. Layoffs all around.

The staff at VizExplorer are amazing and incredible. The management are good people, but the structure of the leadership is difficult. No official budget in order to operate.
