100 person company with a rich history and dynamic culture fostering diversity and individuality, with a charismatic CEO and viable company array of products and licenses.
Working in downtown SF is a big negative (Parking cost, time, crowdedness) but the company and work itself was very good.
Pay levels were (only) about average, definitely levels below tech. or startup type companies.
Great people, a caring HR presence and a fantastic CEO at the helm.

Culture Clash

During my time at VIZ, there was a lot of change going on, and it affected the general happiness level of the employees. There were a lot of smart, passionate people there, but many found some management strategies frustrating and were looking to leave. That said, VIZ is doing well despite an industry that, as a whole, is struggling. Perhaps when they emerge from this transitional period, the work experience will become more pleasant.
