I was given real and impactful responsibilities that made me feel like my contributions mattered. Voyage is filled with the most supportive crew who care a lot about the work they do. Being able to work with real producers in the entertainment industry was an amazing experience that expanded my knowledge of the industry every day! Only con is not paying interns. You get to first-hand experience what it's like to interact with the writers, clients and producers. Did lots of scheduling which I was a huge fan of as well as data entry (excel, google drive), and all of my co workers were wonderful! It was nice to work with folks around my age :) Unpaid is the only con for me! Very demanding workplace, but also very supportive of each team member and their personal/professional growth. Great company culture, which is unusual for such a small company. Very enjoyable place to work, and the team is awesome. Countless opportunities for growth and learning. I'm proud to be on the Voyage Team... I was hired full time with Voyage Media back in April of 2013, and working here continues to be an incredible learning experience for me. I have a background in production and had no idea how involved (& fun) the Development process really is! I get to work hands on with top notch Producers/Executives, be a champion for our client's projects, and have access to resources and information that I just didn't have before. Nat (CEO) and Maher (VP of Dev) have patiently taken me under their wing and shared with me valuable insight. They are great mentors who think outside the box. Company's have the choice to lead by control/micro-managing or to lead by empowerment - I'm grateful that Voyage chose the later. I'm proud to be on the Voyage Team. Because of that, it allows/requires team members to use a mix of creative and business skill-sets -- you're expected to work across disciplines rather than being one or the other. (To me this is a positive, though it's possible that some would see it the opposite way - those folks may not be a great fit). The company definitely has an upward trajectory, and yet is still small enough to feel you have an impact (and even a direct say in strategic choices and projects). The CEO approaches problems with the idea of creating learning for everyone involved, and challenges team members to bring solutions to the table. Above all, he does believe that people can (and should) grow and learn with each experience. It's not truly a negative, but there is often an adjustment for new team members in understanding the some of the corporate language & culture. But once you do, you see that there is a really solid framework for building working relationships and probably a stronger basis for growth than many "small" businesses have. The company isn't big on titles, which some people have a hard time getting used to. Like any company that services clients, there can sometimes be a feeling that the work is never quite done -- when one project wraps another inevitably begins.
