Working at Advertising Outsourcing Services full time, you get the opportunity to produce advertisements for newspapers that you don't get credit for, nor can use for a portfolio.
On average you will produce from 30-50+ ads per day, due to the very fast paced environment, and the clients/marketing specialists you typically deal with on the phone are understanding and can be helpful.
The co-workers are very enlightening, and helpful to an extent. But, working there, the upper management didn't appreciate the employees who did the most. It's one thing hiring someone for an upper management position who is qualified, and experienced. Than to hire someone out of school, with little to no experience or one with no experience or schooling who is now your boss.
The opportunity for growth, is production artist to lead artist. This is a good job, for the bare minimum to get by and get you by until you find a permanent solution else where.
From attending college for my bachelor's degree, everything they told you not to do in design... this place want's you to do. They were stuck in the past, and didn't give an opportunity to progress towards future opportunities.

A great place to get an entry level opportunity as a full time graphic designer. Fast paced work environment but management and leads were patient and generally willing to help if needed.

Not a stable place

If you have the mindset of just coming in, doing the job, and going home. You'll last a lot longer. But it is not a stable environment at all. Management is a mess. They have gone through 9 Managers and 2 Directors and have over time consolidated the work down to 1 Manager and 1 Director. To say the least, they are stressed and it shows. Unfortunately management seems to be second guessed constantly, and doesn't seem to be respected by the boss at all. Speaking about the boss. He says things on the floor that have no place in a work environment and his constant favoritism is becoming more and more a major visible problem. The company is constantly turning over employees because of financial reasons, but don't seem to be on the ball when it comes to clients not paying their bills. They will complain about not having money, have to let go of employees because of it, all the while clients are behind by tens of thousands of dollars for months with no real consequence to the client. The employees pay that price. The employees themselves are fine and some of the most helpful people I have ever known. Look if you come here to get your foot in the door, straight out of college, that's fine. Don't plan to stay long term, and please do yourself a favor...keep looking.

Advertising Outsourcing Services is a young company that specializes in mainly newspaper and magazine print. While the work is somewhat creative and the staff is fun and youthful, the overall management could use some improvement. Fear tactics and favoritism are often seen on the floor when dealing with the staff which lends to a hostile work environment. If the owner could control his temper and trust the judgment of his more-than-capable staff, I believe that company would flourish and go on to accomplish bigger and better things.

Very friendly co-workers and managers. They are always willing to teach and help out when someone has a problem.
We produce ads for newspapers, magazines and websites for clients all around the country. Sometimes publications are busier than others and our artists come to help those publications in need.
We are on tight deadlines and all our artist know that, we all look out for one another so that our ads get back in time to meet the press and to keep all of our clients happy.
This place is a great step up from my previous employer, who always have me the run around. The CEO here is very straight forward and tells the truth. When something comes up regarding the company he calls a meeting to keep everyone in the loop, the good the bad and what needs to be done to fix the problem.
I feel the company appreciates it's employees. Days off are usually granted and vacation time as well. After 90 days you will be able to get your health benefits including dental and vision.
There is opportunity for growth here. I started out as an artist and worked my way up to assistant lead artist and eventually Lead Artist.
The company is expanding thanks to all of our talented artist producing quality work.

While the type of company is good idea the way it is run is poor. If you are just out of school and can work overtime at a moments notice than this is a good job for you. There is no growth within the company. Turnover is high. Mistakes by employees are not corrected right away leaving employees in the dark until they are fired which leaves other employees constantly afraid of losing their job. Many employees on "probation" due to lack of guidance by management. High employee dissatisfaction.
