The What I experienced was a company expanding based on venture capital and projected growth, before contracting again and laying off some of those same employees in the process. From what I heard, the same cycle had also run its course a few years before my time with similar layoffs. The Dublin team is excellent. Leadership - or lack thereof (there's no shortage of micromanagement, though). Work/life balance is non-existent in the states. If you're considering employment, do your due diligence and really ask questions. Have contracts in place for employment and your exit. Since it's a small company you get to work closely with many different people throughout the various software engineering functional/business groups. This means it's a great place for practical learning, expanding knowledge and skills and developing hands on experience. By far, the best thing is working and learning from the others here. The people here are clever, talented, friendly and passionate about the work they do. Some of the smartest engineers I've worked with in my career work here. The products developed by the company are elegant and innovative and provide a fresh approach to solving application security problems. The development environment is very automated and there is a high focus on ensuring that quality software is delivered and bugs are minimised - all code is code reviewed. Office location on Harcourt St is well connected for public transport and there are plenty of nearby cafes/shops for lunch options. Other pros are competitive salary, travel card and flexibility e.g. work from home. No pension. In addition, many people have the opportunity to work directly with PreSales, Client Services, Marketing and at times, and to varying degrees, the C-Level. The company acknowledges and rewards both smart and hard work which are demonstrated from the top down. Our product suite is super interesting, technical and trail-blazing in it's approach to solve some of the world's most complex technical security challenges. It's rare to work on software project and feel like you are making a difference for the greater good. There are some fantastic career opportunities for those wanting to step up, take on more responsibility and make a real difference with so much to learn in terms of technical accumen, people management, leadership, client facing skills and much more. For example, I have worked in 4 different and more progressively challenging roles in 6+ years and experienced some tremedous professional growth. Our current CEO, John Adams, leads by example, is refreshingly candid and incredibly dedicated whereby under his leadership, the company has grown a huge amount and in the right direction. There are no airs-and-graces and while we're all here to ensure the company succeeds, we try and indeed do have quite a bit of fun. At times there is a family-like atmosphere and a great sense of camaradarie. We have solid recruitment practices (phone, open book test, interview/s) ensuring we get the right people both in terms of technical skill and behaviour. The company is HQ'd on Harcourt Street in Dublin which is central for transportation, with many cool places to eat and shop as well as being 2 minutes from both Saint Stephen's Green and the Ivy Gardens. There are few cons. The company is growing and succeeding so at times there is pressure to meet deadlines or take on myriad responsibilities. A cliche to say you learn new things every day but it's really true here. No engineering problem is considered too difficult. You get to work on engineering problems that no other employer in Ireland offers. Fast growing company with the growing pains you expect. Can be stressful sometimes like when there is a major product release.
