Not enough time or money allocated to the project, technical work not understood by management or investor, poor project management through scope-stretching weekly phone requests that were often contradictory or forgotten, little effort or flexibility given to time/wage management, and pay cuts threatened or diminished if issues were brought up with investor or just because of feelings at a certain time point.

I think the whole company was just a guy at a desk in an office building downtown, with some parent investors, but I noticed even the events for the customers were not set up or maintained well, and had problems with file management including losing a bunch of later-requested files due to asking for them to be deleted even after warnings. Such a missed golden opportunity, I don't think the guy works there anymore and the whole project has been completely overhauled anyways, so hopefully everyone's doing better there or elsewhere. Recommendation is just better time/resource management, too much was hefted onto contractors to manage through word-of-mouth when they should be working the tech from documentation with just weekly alignment meetings.
