Working at Newfold was a great experience for me. I enjoyed the team dynamics, global exposure and opportunity to collaborate with some really intelligent people. My leadership team was pretty great and everyone was open to ideas. Money wise, to be quite honest for the sales department is a MAJOR disappointment. My previous company I was able to get 40-100K consistently monthly as it is commission based but with my current one 30K is already a "huge" amount. Don't apply if your not the 'long suffering type of employee'. I'm just staying here due to VISA application purposes that's it. Don't get your hopes up if what your after is an honorable job with great commission. Unli coffee Work every saturday/ sundays every other week. private:web https://www.indeed.com/cmp/web.com/reviews Aug 16th, 2022 12:00AM Open Open Open Newfold Digital Web Advisor Tempe, AZ USA Could not fill the shoes of the former company Endurance International I was originally hired by Endurance International as a Web Advisor and it was a really great job with an awesome atmosphere at the office (free food all the time and even a happy hour on Thursdays). Great pay for an entry level position that did not require any experience. Newfold bought them out and unfortunately things went downhill from there. Work hours got changed and were not as flexible as they used to be. A lot of people were let go because of the merge of two companies that ended up forming Newfold, so the overall sentiment was sour. At the end they decided to outsource my entire department for Web Advisors and we all were let go. I tried multiple times to get promoted during my time there but always got dismissed. For someone working there for 3 years it was kind of pathetic not to be able to move up. At this point I would not recommend working for Newfold. They felt that selling these services was the fix. Employees were under threat of being written up and terminated if they did not sell enough. Initially, training was great and gave a great base for solving web domain issues, however after training you were thrown into the pits where the culture seemed to be more about upselling than helping customers grow their business and fix issues. My immediate managers and supervisors were great. They'd been there a long time and were trying to maintain the relaxed culture as best they could, but that is hard with top down managers creating cultures of sell first which over ride everything. Night shifts were better with a more relaxed environment and customers overseas who were interesting to work with. After a month, I realized about half my calls were to fix issues caused internally by company employees, again due the huge push to make sales quotas even for tech support. This led to many "solving" issues by up-selling customers with products that didn't meet their needs instead of fixing immediate problems. Couple the above with super short breaks and having to clock out to go to the bathroom, and it makes for a very negative experience overall. Which is so sad because it used to be such a chill, positive place to work. Great to learn domain and web hosting. Immediate managers/co-workers knowledgable and fun.. Culture of sell, sell, sell!
