The staff is very friendly and are very open. It is easy to adjust into the company and everyone works closely as a team.

Can be fast paced with lots of starts and stops on new opportunities and projects. National environment on this issue area is toxic and that adds stress. Every day brings more bad news nationally.

You have to consider your fit. The organization is not for everyone!
Welcoming America is a quickly changing, entrepreneurial organization, and staff who are willing to be solution-oriented and self-starters do very well. Staff who need problems solved by others tend to be unhappy and return to more traditional organizations.

Focus on fit for new hires and be more willing to help people who are not a good fit find next steps (sometimes the organization is too 'welcoming')

There are many, many ethical issues. There is rampant favoritism for those who do not challenge the ethical issues. It is very much a "do as I say, not as I do" work environment. From the outside, it seems like a nice place, but it is not.

Flexibility, time off. Great intended mission to help communities.

Management avoids conflict, stigmatizes those who give feedback, doesn't provide clear direction, and throws staff under the bus. There are very questionable ethics in decision making. There is no one to take concerns to, and if you try, you're labeled as troublemaker instead of someone with organization's best interest in mind. Leadership only listen to a few people and disregard other opinions.

Poor to non existent operational structures, no HR which allows for questionable decisions to be made, because the work is so flexible cross communication is often lacking , poor vision and direction from the top, little room for advancement, at times decisions that are made seem a bit unethical, Strongly agree with another comment "An internal culture of "sweeping things under the rug" "put on a happy face for staff" with a failure to implement important issues for staff." , very little to poor board structure
