Marketing/sales focused; more about "vaporware" than service delivery

Core enterprise security products were well built. 24x7 SOC support was pretty good for customers. Generally good working culture.

The good parts of PerimeterX were mostly diluted by the Human Security acquisition. All thoughts of delivering value post-sale were discarded in favor of "sell sell sell" and let it be someone else's problem to placate angry and mislead customers.
As the company failed to get revenue positive quarter after quarter, millions were being spent on art & film conferences, or commissioning comic books about the CEO as a "superhero fighting internet bad guys" (I wish I was kidding)

Slowly falling apart thanks to hands off leadership

The actual product itself (at least on the media side) is very good. It's satisfying to be able to support customers and be proud of our detection work. The problem space is very challenging and interesting; the question of finding fraud on the internet is a fun one and there's always more to do, with very smart colleagues. Great flexibility and work life balance, including with remote work. People work hard but in a manageable way, lots of individual runway to do what needs to be done.

- Multiple layoffs multiple times in 2023, potentially more to come in 2024. No job stability and the daily work is becoming harder with each round. Laid off almost entirety of engineering teams.
- Salaries used to be quite good with a target of hitting 75% of the market, but they moved towards saying they just aim to hit 50% the market rate. There's been a complete lack of salary increases; we are far behind the salaries of other companies and multiple colleagues have left for 20-50% pay increases in the last few months, not to mention it's very frustrating to get only a tiny increase after you work hard to increase your skills and demonstrate value to the company worth millions of dollars.
- Lack of leadership and oversight since combining with PerimeterX (Enterprise product) in 2022
- Growth targets so high as to be impossible in this economy.
- Lack of product resources to scope work focuses.
- No structure, poorly planned teams and sprints. Lack of support for managers.
