Fellow faculty are really good, lots of support from the administration, good balance between work and family, great interaction with students, lots of encouragement to try new ideas.

● Work-life balance
Someone really needs to investigate the mis treatment of the custodial staff from the Manager at Whit worth. There is bulling, discriminating comments and mannerism to out of country employees, Belittling employees. I sprained my angle and is permenetly damaged because he was very upset and attacked me as a person. I worked 200 percent of my time there and was treated poorly and continue to witness others being treated poorly. Lots of tears going on there. I was told to stay home because i was sick during the COVID crisis. I was so scared to come back to work when i was in the clear. The manager treated me so bad, Soon after was let go because of what they said was COVID. They hired my position back in less then a month. I am just asking that there is an investigation on the management here. There wasn’t ever a complete performance reveiw at all to give me some sort of map on how to improve, I really didn’t know what promp the cruel abuse happening here.
● Pay & benefits
Pay is less then average. Basically minimum wage. Less then other colleges in the area
● Job security and advancement
I continued to ask for extra training on custodial equipment and procedures but was not offered the opertunity. While going to school shifts were being changed with no options that did not support the schedule i had going to school
● Management
Investigation on the poor mis treatment of the custodial department is in need
● Culture
I was told my smock with pockets are ugly and not except able, can have a pack pack to carry to my work stations. My ideas were not valued
● Overall
Custodial experience i would say is criminal. Very abused by the manager. The rest of campus was amazing. The students, faculty and staff is what made me push through this. They were great. I sure miss that experience.

Not enough support for CDAs and other diversity based staff. There was not much concrete training when I was a CDA and we were not taught how to handle campus-wide issues.

Whitworth university is a great place to work, the bosses are nice and help you with what you need to know, they are up front about everything your job entitles and hold you accountable. 10/10 would reccomend

My Whitworth Experience
|
A typical day at work was arranging the volunteers for my site for every day, making sure they knew what they were supposed to do. The hardest part of the job was to effectively communicate with teammates, as not everyone was committed to responding, personally seeking out the teammates was sometimes time consuming. The best part of the job was leaving a positive impact in my community and the team environment.

The Christian faculty are clearly in charge of administrative policy at Whitworth. The school proudly discriminates against all non-Christian religions when hiring faculty and refuses to higher LGBTQ faculty. Tenure has more to do with being a “good Christian” than being profitable, growing a program or producing employed graduates. It costs what Harvard costs; but is definitely not Harvard.
