I was hired as a temp-to-hire assistant and received no training and guidance in my role. I was clear with those who hired me that I had not worked as an Executive Assistant previously, indicating that I would need on-the-job training. This was acknowledged, and then never followed through by my employers. The manager that was tasked with my training took a leave of absence at the beginning of my being hired, and she was never replaced. I felt as though I had no support from my fellow coworkers and the office environment was incredibly cliquey. There is very little to no diversity in upper management. Upon my position ending, the manager who was in charge of my training, who had taken leave, informed me that they "Misunderstood my qualifications." This was after the rigorous interview process, wherein I had 4 separate interviews with 10 different people. Not sure how they were able to "misunderstand" my qualifications after that many interviews.
