Yes the product had some issues but management was committed to fix them. The largest issue I saw with this company was that it was a very niche product during a tough economic time and that made for a difficult sell.

CEO/CTO founders are a bit haphazard in their approach, but it's a company full of good, smart and warm people. It's a painful process updating a brutally dated tech stack to get the legacy PHP/JQuery out, but I'm sure they're further down the line now.
