Wright's Media is a great place to work. It's a small company and most of the employees are very nice. The pay is fair and you can always count on evenings and weekends off. A few times a year we have company outings, Top Golf, Bowling, cook-outs etc., and they are a lot of fun.

I love working for Wright's Media. I'm presented with new challenges almost daily pertaining to improving our services for our partners and customers and it's great! I've been with the company 10+ years and, like many companies, we went through growing pains and had to endure some bad apples in management but that is all behind us and the future is exciting. Please ignore those bad reviews from years ago. I can honestly say I look forward to coming into work these days. I could not ask for a better group of people to work with!

Since we are a small company there is little room for advancement within the company, but when positions are available a search internal is priority. Also, I'd like to see more company/team building events.

I have worked for Wright's for over 16 years and have experienced the growth of the company first hand. Wright’s provides a positive work environment with great team leaders who provide support and motivate all their employees. Great co-workers who are very friendly and helpful; because the company is small it allows for personal relationships with all employees. Owner/CEO is great about giving back to the community and treating his employees to the occasional surprise lunch.

Small companies don't allow for much growth; however, Wright's is great about making accommodations if you are interested in expanding your role within the company.

There's a bright future ahead

I am fairly new to the company and this is my first time working for a smaller privately-owned business and it is, indeed, different in a good way! I love that all of the employees support and care for each other both in and outside of the office. I do believe there are growth opportunities here as the business continues to expand into different industries. I'm excited for our building expansion and can't wait to see our success a few years from now! Hopefully, we get a food court and a foosball table. :)

There is always room for more cross-departmental communication and a lot more team building outside of work to help management/departments trust and support each other more.

The company is really growing so it's an exciting time to be a part of the team. Our clients are fun to work with and really love being our partner which makes all aspects of our jobs easier. Management is fun, works well together and willing to listen to suggestions from employees. Overall, I have really enjoyed my time here with a great group of folks!

The company did struggle for a bit with a very bad COO and thus left some employees with a bad taste. The owner has since asked him to move on and the culture has totally changed. Since him leaving it is fun to come to work each day and look forward to the future knowing that one bad seed is gone!

I wrote my cons list first because I honestly cannot think of one pro.
|
I knew from my first day working at Wright's that I needed to find another job ASAP. Where do I even begin with this place?
Some people are nice but there's a few bad apples that really outweigh all the nice people. There's no HR department, so management completely condones and even PROMOTES people who sexually harass women! If you are a woman looking to work here, please run away as fast as you can!
The pay was awful. I was severely underpaid for years even with a degree. I worked extremely hard the whole time I was there and never got a raise. All management cares about is the bottom line.
The benefits were expensive and awful. It might be managable for someone who doesn't have a family, but if you want to cover your spouse or children, get on your spouse's plan or prepare to buy ramen noodles to feed your family.
Their break room is a joke. Can't even offer your employees somewhere to get away from their desks for lunch. All there is is one table and a few chairs. Want water or coffee? Bring your own.
The building itself is the most depressing I have ever worked at. Fluorescent lights, no windows, and absolutely no personality (other than fake plants and ducks everywhere).
Oh and how could I forget! There was an inclement weather day in which the office was CLOSED due to heavy rain and flooding. I was relieved to know I didn't have to risk my life to get to work until we later find out that it gets taken out of our measly PTO bank!! 5 vacation days for the first 2 years you work there and one of them had to be used for a day that was completely out of your control?! This place is a strict 8-5 workplace, no working from home and no flextime.

Simple to work for with high turnover

The company is small enough that you'll get to know everyone; most of the fellow employees are kind and want to help you succeed, the industry is interesting.
|
Turnover rate is high because people aren't a priority-- the bottom line is far more important than the actual employees. This means that people are expendable. I can almost understand this for a sales environment, but I would say it's unhealthy at Wright's. This mentality is put forth primarily by the management.
