Kids are nice and tend to behave very well.
|
The boss here is very unprofessional and unorganized.
We have no standards to abide by, and are asked to recreate new curriculum every single year.
The teachers are often asked to do tasks last minute and as a result everybody scrambles at the simple whim of the boss.
I do not recommend this work place to anybody, and would give a zero star if that could be an option.
We pour so much resource and time into the Chinese New Year performance and sacrifice students' learning time as a result.
The management team once chewed us out for not giving the school good feedback on an annual employee survey. Really, what kind of workplace does that?
The teachers' contracts are performance based, but the bosses do not do formal observations until the end of the year, so how are we suppose to improve?
All in all, this is a very toxic place to work, and should be avoided at all cost.
If you come here thinking they will retain you and help you with work visa sponsorship, you are better off elsewhere.

Look closely at the survey results that are provided to you every year, and stop burying your heads in the sand!
We need new leadership for this place that's willing to come to bat and advocate for the employees.

Great place to work if you love children and are in need of a temporary or part time position. Every employee is truly passionate about the school and so there is a very intimate vibe about their community. The students are extremely smart and fun to be around. Even though I worked part time ($12/hour) my supervisors were always very open to helping me get in more hours to make ends meet.

Supportive colleagues and families. You work hard because you love the children and the community that offers great Chinese immersion opportunity for all.

Salary is far less competitive in this area, yet very demanding workload and little appreciation from the administrative people. Many teachers are unhappy and being abused because they are holding H1B working visa and the school is manipulating this fact. They don't have many professional opportunities for teachers. Not a healthy working environment, think twice before you accept their job offer.

Toxic workplace, Yinghua is the worst Chinese immersion school in Minnesota

Some parents and students are sweet and nice. Due to the low salaries, the school normally hires inexperienced teachers or teachers who don't have education backgrounds academically. It's easy for everyone to get on board.

Super high turnover. Staff or teachers quit or resign frequently. Horrible Administration team. Teachers are exhausted and do not have time to rest. The Administration team expect all teachers to work every single minute. But still do not appreciate the staff.
