I connected with the GM of the Dubai office and he found my profile interesting - I was surprised but excited to get a reply. This is, however, where the buck stops. What followed was 2 years of strange, haphazard and unprofessional behaviour. In my first interview encounter, I was called in on a weekend only to never hear back from the company again. I kept in touch with the individuals I met and reconnected for a job opportunity through a recruiter a few years later. Despite constant contact, the individuals I met pretended they did not know me. I was left waiting for a scheduled interview for over an hour. I went through 3 rounds of interviews with senior brand executives not able to answer basic questions like 'What is the culture at Landor' or 'What is the role I'm applying for'. It ended with the company questioning, after my constant follow ups over a 2 year period, whether I was interested in actually working at Landor. Overall, it left me disillusioned. I managed a team of designers sitting in different countries in Europe and in the USA. I had direct contact with the clients and I was a key contact point on everything is design related. Landor is a very exigent and selective agency, their quest for excellence is perpetual, therefore the commitment should be total.
