Amazing Experience!

I started as a remote editorial intern at YH in early 2021 and within just a few months, I've learned so much about writing! You get to pitch your own topics and their editorial coordinator Katie will choose which pieces you work on for the week. In the first few weeks, she left notes on where I could improve and why she turned down certain pitches, but over time my pieces didn't need as much correction since I got used to the style of writing the site wants. It's been so fun and you get to write about the celebrities and topics that interest you! It's also a great portfolio builder and YH will tweet your work out to their followers.

Once your pieces are posted you don't get updates on the numbers/performance, but that can also be seen as a good thing if you (like me) put a lot of pressure on yourself.

Great internship!

I really enjoyed my time at Young Hollywood. The staff is so friendly and you get the hang of things really quickly. Hands on experience with all things entertainment. Got to meet celebrities all the time and maintain this level of professionalism. Really recommend this internship to anyone who wants to work in the entertainment industry specifically production and social media.

Some days were a little slow but it wasn't anything too terrible. It's also unpaid internship but the experience is worth it.

- small staff, you really get to know all of them
- nice studio in a 5 star hotel
- hands-on experience researching, booking, posting, etc. interviews
- attend field shoots (set visits, red carpets, etc.)
- great group of interns
- great hours (10 AM to 5 PM with 1 hour lunch break)
- good communication within the company
- getting to be in the same room as talent during interviews

- small studio, can get crowded
- no desks for interns, have to make do of uncomfortable chairs
- not a lot of face-to-face communication with my supervisor, mostly through text/email
- not likely to get hired after interning
