With no possibility to express yourself, with no possibility to have a formal training and support from other leaders apart from yours. Your happiness and your success will depend on the objectivity your boss has. My boss is not objective and doesn't allow freedom of speech and work.

Politics can sometimes get in the way if you are not influencing the right people the right way. This can get tricky for someone who is not high on interpersonal skills or someone who does not set influencing as a priority. Loose structure so can get confusing in terms of roles and responsibilities, thereby messing up with expectations.

Low psychological safety and trust. Competitive atmosphere where leaders do not walk the talk and do not practice what they preach (sell). Injustice and favoritism are pervasive. Services and work can become monotonous as there is little impact on the top of clients with decision makers. Very transactional services in terms of assessment and coaching.

Great for entrepreneurial types, but beware: Emotionally unstable CEO

CEO is emotionally unstable. Management team declines to undergo assessment process that internal teams provide to clients. Financial systems are ancient - few cost controls in place, therefore, the company is fiscally mismanaged. They’ve cut compensation and hours in face of COVID due to this fiscal mismanagement. Culture is cult-like: if you don’t bow down to CEO and his acolytes, you are labeled as difficult to work with, a misfit, etc. He is now screaming about how companies are performative when it comes to D&I, yet, YSC can’t seem to retain Black employees. What’s the racial representation on the management team? Looks quite vanilla. Judge the company by the internal decisions it makes. Management team members are not independent thinkers — they are yes-people to CEO and are in their positions because they successfully manage his emotions. Leadership is whimsical at best. Completely disorganized governance. Management team is mediocre at best, not the team to ‘shape the future.’ YSC won’t ever achieve it’s sale price with this CEO & management team.
