poorly managed, as a result the company closed leaving over 60 employees jobless including myself. Expected to lie to vendors and suppliers about getting them payment. The company owed money to a lot of people upon it closing abruptly as well as a weeks worth of salary that no employee was given on their final unannounced week of work.

Great learning experience

Interning at House of Z was a great experience. The management was great, the other interns were friendly and it was a creative atmosphere. Zac and the full time employees were kind and always treated the interns well.

This is such a great company to work. very good benefit and reasonable compensation. there are lot of over time also for people who want to make some extra money during fashion shows.
only I don't see is job security there. the reason I believe, lover management (some) has lot of politics. so they may transfer you to different place, different section, or even stop your work anytime. even for personal anger.. which company management doesn't really know the truth.

Sit next to Zac Posen gown being made, Lots to learn and very friendly staff

Being a design intern at Zac Posen was hands-on, fun, and filled with friendly staff. A typical day we would assist the design team with pattern making, sewing tests, fabric tests, sketching, inspiration board, and assisting the production team with fabric orders. The management taught us hands on learning. There were many co-workers that were interning from Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons. The hardest part of the job was the fabric testing which, sometimes consisted of taking different types of silk fabric and using our hands and an iron with steam to create pleats. The most enjoyable part was seeing a design we helped in come to life such as, sketching dresses or using a mannequin and using twill tape to create symbolize embroidery designs that would be designed onto the final garment.
