I can't think of too many positives or meaningful things to say besides: I get paid on time. I guess the unlimited vacation policy is a pretty great perk but nowadays it's becoming a standard in almost any Bay Area company. It's interesting to read the stunning contrast between the positive and negative here. You immediately notice a pattern: Once in a while a negative review shows up, and 3-4 days later "positive" review(s) surface, praising Zephyr as "an amazing company." Clearly trying to balance or reduce the impact of negative reviews. Take it from an insider, most of the negative reviews here are spot on. While the positive ones are just smoke and mirrors, attempting to create a false feeling of ‘It's the most wonderful place on earth.’ It's embarrassing to read these reviews as it's attempting to paint Zephyr in too much of a "pink light", but that's to cover up on all the atrocious things going on over here. I've seen individuals promoted twice within 5 months with no real merit or substance. If a promotion is an advancement based on contribution or good performance, I would expect these individuals to be exceptional super stars that are just producing above and beyond for the company. However, they've been around for a while and their contribution and work hasn't changed much for the better or become substantially more meaningful that it justifies promoting twice. The culture is horrendous with a management team comprised of sycophants who have all been elevated to Director or VP level without merit. private:zephyrhealth https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=718589 Nov 5th, 2016 12:00AM Open Open Zephyr Health Honestly love working at Zephyr Health - Consists of an extremely diverse group of talents, all eager to make our product better - We are constantly evolving and that includes improving our communication across the teams - We all share a common goal, therefore the amount of finger-pointing is minimal and we really do come together, both within a team and with other teams - I personally really enjoy the culture here - it's not perfect, but nothing is set in stone and I'm never afraid to speak up With every startup comes the problem of trying to remain consistent, such as having better documentation practice or communication, which we are definitely always working on! This company has a lot of talent. In an area where you don't even have to leave the street to find a new job it is amazing that all this talent is under one roof. The vibe is energetic and product is in high demand. I have watched this company grow from a "do what you have to to get the product out the door", to a well formulated process, looking for security, reliability and accountability before the product gets out the door. There is an extensive use of documentation, and there is a lot of people who can help if it is needed. There is a very strong board of trustees as well from very highly regarded tech leaders in silicon valley. They won't let this place fail. Everyone is an owner, the stock is real not some shady shadow unit or whatever. Startups are not easy. Many fail way before they get to the maturity level of Zephyr. This can cause an environment were people need to be agile and supportive. This can also cause stress levels to be higher, target dates have a lot more meaning than with larger established companies. The team is in a better place now, but only because the bar was set so low by the old CEO that a demented five year old would have been a major improvement. We've raised almost $100 MM and have nothing to show for it beyond a handful of Clients that do small consulting projects with us and a cap table filled with people who will line their pockets before any employee ever sees a dollar. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 17.0 1.0 4.0 3.0 1.0 1.0 1.0 718589 Open Tell the truth. The cap table has hundreds of millions of shares and investors have liquidation preferences rendering employee options worthless. We are bleeding money and a down round is inevitable. The finances and cap table were badly mismanaged by the previous regime and the former CEO (William F King IV) doesn't care because he cashed out. Him getting himself fired doesn't stop him from constantly seeking media attention to feed his enormous ego. Randomly giving spot bonuses and raises across the board in an effort to improve retention rates helps but it would be better to know this place was actually going somewhere.
