Great Humanity and learning opportunities

I have been working in this company quite a lot and I had the opportunity to learn and grow.
It's far from perfect but it is getting there by working on the management style and work approach.
It gave me the opportunity the learn every aspect of the E-commerce cycle and to learn how to deal with clients and third party agencies.
It requires a big deal of adaptability but it gives back a lot of humanity.

Is a good place for starters. You can gain experience. No pressures at all

The workflow. It seems it does not matter how good or not good you do what you do.
The communication is another big issue inside the company in general. Is not a big company but the lack of good communication is one of its weakest points

You should take care of your employees. That means, motivate, listen, encourage them. Give the example doing your best. Nothing less encouraging than seeing how your superiors do exactly what they should not do (speaking about workflow).
Try to make them feel that they do are adding something to the company and is not the same if they are there of if they not working there.

I have been working for Zerogrey for over 5 years, I started as Customer Experience Agent when the Company was a Start-Up in 2011. We were a great young and energetic team, I met some of the most important people of my life there and I have learnt a lot. Working extra hours was not a problem and we were doing it with passion. The Company has been growing fast ever since, developing from a full ecommerce service provider to a cloud based technological platform. The Company shifted its focus from the Services to the Tech-Platform. I and the management team have been growing together with the Company, my efforts have been rewarded and I have become Team Leader and then Manager of my Team. The workload has always been huge and the work has been sometimes stressful, but I found it rewarding at the same time. The Company provided us extra training, management team took part in an external business management course and in an in-house corse focused on productivity. This allowed me to develop myself and grow professionally. Many changes and improvements have been put in place over the years.

Personal comments and gossiping should be avoided. People need to be rewarded and their work recognised openly. Many improvements have been done in this sense. Improve the communication within the Company at all levels increasing transparency.

Having being part of the management team I can say that I would have liked to provide better training to my team, give them more possibility to grow and develop within the Company. To the management team I can advise to keep the right distance with employees, be friendly but professional, keep rewarding and be thankful to the employees, avoid finger pointing and enhance training at all levels. Be smart in the way you communicate and involve people.

It is just an italian company in Ireland

Free food (45€/weekly to spend on Deliveroo). Some very nice work colleagues where to hang out and have great chats. Central location in Dublin City. No clock in /clock out system. Free dried coffee and milk. Big fridge with free water. Free fruits delivered on average twice/week.

When I started, I have never received a training. I had to look for information on myself or asking other colleagues. I complained on this way of doing things and as answer they argued that this is a skill to get information.
The first year I worked with a team leader who was arguing and always telling me it was my fault. If I did A was wrong and I had to do B. If then I did B, I should have done A. Whatever was my motivation, I was always wrong. Luckily he resigned. Since then, we worked with one person less, but work increased.
No sponsorship if you pay your own for college or university study. 20 days holidays per year is ridiculous. I have been paid for 1 year and half with a junior contract but covering tasks as Specialist/Account manager, key points for the company. After pointing this out to management several times they modified the contract, although the salary was lower standard as in a call Centre.
The way company operates is the classic Italian way, where management doesn't trust anybody, argues criticizing on other jobs, putting others in bad light to take personal advantage. Always acting smart in front of clients who mostly have low knowledge of marketing. Pretending to have a full understanding but in reality just playing with their authority so that nobody can disagree.
Promotions are based mostly on friendship or alliance in watching the back each others. There is competition and back stabbing within managers of departments who like showing the company director who is the best so that the directors can take the decision where to steer the boat, moving budget to one department.
Policy is not applied at the same level. Usually management can do anything, while employees just suck it up.
I personally didn't have any chances for progression and I always felt not being part of the company. My knowledge and experience was always overlapped by pseudo marketers in the company playing the part of professionals. Only few times I was recognized for my job. Rest of the time was just taken for granted.
There is no work life balance, you just work stressed and overloaded (because they don't hire people) and while pointing this out to the management, they tell you it is your fault, you act like a victim, you are not organized.
Happy to have left this company.

Listen your employees, not only what managers tell you. Cope with the fact that you are not in Italy but in Ireland. Resign from the company and put somebody who is capable of running a company. Not focus only on your wallet.

The company offers a good opportunity to discover or improve knowledge in e-commerce. Moreover, this is allowed thanks to the interactions between the different departments. Regarding the clients, they all operate in fashion but their typology is diversified: some are famous locally and others internationally, some are family-owned and others multinational.

The organization needs to be improved and the tasks of everyone defined. The workers are asked to be flexible and patient.
