it was a fun atmosphere for someone fresh out of college, however for a young professional seeking to find a serious career it was not a good fit. I was seeking a more professional environment where my hard work would be put to good use.

Great company
|
The company was great, but I was let go after an acquisition, so the culture may have changed since I left. My team was great, the sales floor was enthusiastic, they made us feel welcome. There were always snack and catered lunches on Fridays, no clue if that continued. The benefits were okay.

High-energy sales environment, bring the hustle!

Pros:
-Fast growth if you are willing to listen to coaching
-can drastically improve your interpersonal skills with calling into high management leads to generate business
-pay grade is fair in comparison to other sales positions I have looked into
-very fun environment
-great starting position for anyone trying out the sales world, but it won'y be a walk in the park, it's a J-O-B, if you aren't working hard, what are you doing?
Cons:
-long hours can be expected, but if you want to close business with geographic locations that are outside your normal time zone, you should probably plan on being available to chat during their hours too
-average hours are 7:30-5:30. this is not a constant grind if you break your day up accordingly (I can thank my team lead for helping with that)
Advice to Management
-keep doing what you are doing
-sales contests for big screen TVs and other awesome prizes are always enjoyed, and they motivate your team to do even better

Working as a Sales Manager at Zeroturnaround was a great experience for me in that while I had a large amount of responsibility, I really enjoyed my colleagues, challenge, fast paced atmosphere, and consistently and exceeding quota.
I would come in every day and immediately start with a brief meeting with my team to discuss what we all had planned for the day and execution strategy, how we were doing as a team insofar as achieving and exceeding metrics. and how adjust strategy as needed..

ZeroTurnaround provides you with a very strong basis in the sales world. You learn an incredible amount in a short time period and if successful, set yourself up for a strong career in software sales. The team is very young, close, and fun.
Pay is low when you start but if you rise in the company, you will be compensated very well.
Everything will be great as long as you drink the kool aid and don't question your superiors. There is little work/life balance, do not expect vacation time or to work less than 50 hours/week at any point in your career.
Overall, ZT is a great place to begin your sales career but few can stay there for longer than a couple years.

Fun atmosphere, tough place to advance
|
A typical day as a Business Development Representative was making at least 120 cold calls per day. You were expected to hit this number everyday and attempt to sell the companies software to developers and IT professionals who did not appreciate being cold called. I ended up making over 150 cold calls per day, everyday. The atmosphere in the office is high tempo with music always playing and snacks provided. Co-workers are all young and enthusiastic, this was the best part of the job.
