The camaraderie I experienced was unlike any other job. The work was interesting, and pay was pretty competitive for the role. Amazing supportive and collaborative team, great company vision and trajectory, one of a kind benefits especially for a start up. Explosive growth. Then Covid hit. I was a key member of the field operations team. Was lucky to just be furloughed in the first round of layoffs. Then came the next round. Not so lucky. My entire team was let go. My entire department. They laid off almost 50% of the entire company. I wish they could have worked harder to keep some of us who put our blood sweat and tears into the company. I wish they could have worked harder to get more bridge gap funding. I wish they could have tried pivoting their operations and business model while also including some of us loyal, creative, and multitalented enployees around to help in that pivot. But alas. I understand the financial terrors of this pandemic and how hard it hit this industry. But it's such a shame that my entire department was dissolved. It felt like it came from a place that was too knee jerk, and not enough meditative. But I understand these decisions are not easy ones. Either way, I had an amazing time working there and I hope for the best for everyone still there. Perhaps once the pandemic is under control, the company can regain some of its glory (and the people behind that glory). People most of them nice They manage properties in five different states. My typical day at work, is in the morning catching up with emails, slack, and putting out the fires. Cash Application, Research where to apply the money. Contacting the B2B Clients, Working closely with Sales team and other internal teams. Attending lots of meetings, regarding A/R and going over my analysis and DSO. Help with integration of NetSuite. Collections on B2B accounts and B2C accounts. Preparing Eviction list and working closely with internal Legal Counsel. Preparing weekly and monthly A/R reports. Prepared policies and procedures for Fin/Ops.
