she:300296 https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=2489 Mar 15th, 2024 12:00AM Open Open Planar Systems Corvallis, OR The people you work with are good, but upper management needs fixing Great benefits, a variety of projects, solid team work. The work is generally fulfilling too. There are a lot of opportunities to learn new skills and do things outside of your primarily discipline. Communication felt difficult due to using Microsoft Teams which is generally glitchy/difficult to ensure that everyone sees the info they need to see. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 0.0 3.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 5.0 2.0 5.0 2489 Open . 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 2.0 Open Mar 17th, 2024 09:14AM Mar 17th, 2024 09:14AM Leyard

Fair and analytical approach to decisions rather than random. High competence amoung management and employees. Many are long term employees. she:300296 https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=2489 May 27th, 2023 12:00AM Open Open Planar Systems Planning Manager A great company ruined by Executive/Corporate Leadership - Offers a great benefits package. - Very flexible with work scheduled if salaried worker. - A good company if you are looking for something sales orientated. - All interactions with coworkers were cordial and kind. Office interactions were generally positive and professional. - Offers competitive salary ranges. - Highly ambitious with company goals. - The sales goals have become extremely aggressive, negatively impacting the company as well as its departments and teams. Previously, Planar and its subsidiaries (NaturalPoint) prioritized engineering initiatives, but now they are solely focused on sales and marketing campaigns, following the direction set by the sales and marketing teams. - In the event that they fail to meet their sales goals, even by a small margin, they scrutinize and reduce the compensation of their employees. If they consider the situation severe enough, they resort to laying off several individuals, often accompanied by abrupt emails to the entire company announcing the unexpected departure of an employee described in vague terms. - This company largely disregards the concept of work-life balance. It is extremely common for employees to work beyond regular hours or outside of standard working hours to fulfill their own responsibilities, which often become overwhelming. - At some point, you will find yourself taking on tasks and responsibilities that go beyond the scope of your designated job duties. It is common for everyone to assume additional roles, often referred to as "wearing multiple hats." - They consistently claim that internal promotions are their priority before seeking external candidates, but this statement is far from the truth. While there is a possibility of being promoted, they often seize the opportunity to reduce costs by either replacing you with existing employees or hiring externally. They frequently make promises of transitioning you into a role that suits you better, but this is often just a ploy to delay your progress while they strategically arrange the circumstances to make it easier to lay you off. Throughout my tenure with them, I have witnessed this occurrence on three separate occasions. Additionally, they have a tendency to employ consultants and contractors to fulfill job responsibilities they lack, ironically aiming to save costs, but ultimately resulting in higher expenses (both financially and logistically). - They don't follow industry standard practices regarding ERP and MRP systems. They finance department barely can balance financial figures provided by there BI infrastructure to other subsidiaries and sister companies. There reporting team barely has experience outside of creating graphs and standard reports. - They deviate from industry-standard practices when it comes to ERP and MRP systems. Their finance department struggles to reconcile financial figures generated by their BI infrastructure with those of other subsidiaries and sister companies. Their reporting team lacks substantial experience beyond generating graphs and standard reports. -They do not adhere to the typical HR structure, where HR generalists have the authority to handle hiring processes specific to the facility. Instead, all hiring decisions are directly routed to the CEO, encompassing all companies owned and operated by Leyard, Planar, and NaturalPoint. If you require any assistance from HR, expect delays in response times. - There is widespread favoritism, particularly within the various Sales teams. Gossip is prevalent, and if you find yourself on the wrong side of the Sales team, you can expect to face negative repercussions albeit subtle but impactful. - They frequently claim to value talent but have no qualms about severing ties with individuals once their usefulness to the company has expired. -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 NEGATIVE -1.0 DISAPPROVE 0.0 1.0 1.0 2.0 2.0 4.0 1.0 2.0 2489 Open Give genuine attention to the talent within your company and nurture it. Many employees remain loyal and work diligently because of their passion for the Motion Capture industry. Reduce reliance on contractors and consultants for tasks that require specialized knowledge. Instead, rely on your existing employees and acknowledge their contributions accordingly. Take heed of the insights and guidance provided by the engineering and software development teams when it comes to product development. Place less emphasis on Sales correspondence, as the Sales teams may not possess all the answers. Being in a leadership position doesn't automatically make you an effective leader. Humble yourself and be open to learning from your employees, as there is still much for you to discover and grow from. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 2.0 Open May 29th, 2023 12:25PM May 29th, 2023 12:25PM Leyard
