I learned a lot

- You get to learn A LOT on a short amount of time.
- A lot of experienced people
- Very friendly and calm work place
- The profit sharing/bonus is a nice addition
- Hybrid workplace and a superb work/Life balance
|
- Some issues with people becoming managers a bit to fast. Especially men.
- The paygrade is not great compared to other companies in the industry
- Have had some issues with gender discrimitaion and sexual harassment that could have been cared for better (in my opinion).

Hardly any pros to working here I'm afraid.

Many of the team members are very inexperienced with AAA quality games but are confident to exert their opinions on processes. They've a toxic work culture of bullying and fabricating lies to get what they want.
HR are not just helpless in preventing the toxicity but enabling this behaviour to continue. They've previously had a run-in with the country's unions and they have not seemed to have learned from this.

Generally, your coworkers are great people. The company was better a few years ago where they still tried to do good games.
|
I worked at Paradox for several years, and while every company will have their own struggles - the company, especially top management is setting the company for a total failure. There is no trust between employees towards the management, any "complaints" or questions raised from the employees is met with reprimands or told that you "don't know what the top managers know" so therefore you are not entitled to question the decisions and leadership.
The company is happily to release poor quality games (this has happened for years) to make money, as the company want to maintain profits at all cost. While this is exactly what a business needs to do in order to survive, Paradox will not listen to the people who warn that the games are in a poor state as money today is better than money in a few months despite losing the goodwill they had each time they value profit over the player base.
Staff have been leaving in big droves and the common reason is the lack of trust in leadership. No one want to work at a company who is knowingly releasing broken games - the employees don't feel any pride in that. It takes such a little effort to listen to the employees and make them feel heard, their feedback taken into account, show some transparency. But Paradox cannot muster to acknowledge they have a problem, and will rather be happy to lose the talent to "clean house".
You are smart enough for them to want to abuse your talent but too dumb to have any rights to raise awareness to issues in the company.
