Some of the managers are ableist and if someone in a higher position has a bias against you, good luck trying to advance. This is NOT a job to work if you hate overtime because some departments wind up on mandatory overtime due to work volume. Also, this is a utility so if a storm hits, your workload will increase once it is safe to leave your home/shelter. The company as a whole is great. It is a very supportive nurturing place that really does support a work/life balance. Compensation and benefit are very generous. The department I work in has hypothetical advancements, but actual advancements are rare, however, that is NOT the norm for the rest of the company.
