Pretty laid back place to work if you dont get a bad supervisor or manager Low Pay Favoritism with certain people. Management can't decide on rules. All injuries are your fault and you get a warning even when its clear its not your fault. 1.0 POSITIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL 0.0 NO_OPINION 0.0 3.0 4.0 3.0 1.0 2.0 2.0 0.0 962 Open Stop firing your best people for breaking the most harmless rule, especially when the amount of workers is already low 0.0 [] REGULAR No Yes 6.0 Sep 28th, 2020 05:30PM Jul 1st, 2021 12:41PM Village Farms
tsx:vff https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=962 Jul 21st, 2015 12:00AM Open Open Village Farms Anonymous Great company to work for they offer housing, transportation to work and grocery stores. They retain a charter company for employees to go home on weekends to visit their families. The Facility Grower knows every aspect of greenhouse from maintenance to accounting, learned alot from him. Many of my co-workers I consider to be more like family. Great place HR and equality were the only issues I had....... too many Chiefs! Besides that, loved the job and the people. If you love a challenge this is the place for you. 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 POSITIVE 1.0 APPROVE 2.0 5.0 5.0 4.0 4.0 5.0 4.0 0.0 962 Open None, Extreme Growers know what they are doing.... 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 4.0 Jun 19th, 2019 01:49PM Jul 1st, 2021 12:41PM Village Farms
tsx:vff https://www.glassdoor.com?employer_id=962 Sep 5th, 2014 12:00AM Open Open Village Farms Product Manager Fort Davis, TX A complete and ignominious failure When I just meet with Village Farms upper management I was thrill. The two Europeans that interviewed me, have vast experience in greenhouses and hydroponics, they seem very open to train professional women and work as a team. They interviewed me with two other graduates from Davis University and Cal Poly agriculture schools. The greenhouses structures and systems are the best in their kind. Being a young company, the opportunities seem limitless for a fully bilingual agronomist. The interview process was very positive. Good vacations and holidays. Company paid my move from out of state. CEO out of touch. Mostly uneducated co-workers defending their turf, no information sharing. Complicity and favoritism. Management gives opportunities to males and places women in the back row. Huge nepotism at this facility. No growth or development; tried to move to other facilities/departments with no success. Workers are motivated based on fear or money. Encouragement or praise are unknown. Maintenance team poorly trained. Negative environment for someone professional with a college degree or female. -1.0 NEGATIVE 0.0 NEUTRAL -1.0 DISAPPROVE 1.0 2.0 4.0 2.0 2.0 3.0 1.0 0.0 962 Open Respect professional college graduate people. If you don't believe in education, is fine. But don't hire them and then throw them to the pigs. Put a policy to avoid nepotism, it hurts the company. Have more avenues for employees to communicate their work issues without fear of retribution. Keep equipment in good shape so workers can do their job easier and faster. CEO look for embezzlement. Have a pesticide applicator with a license. Inform workers about pesticide applications on a timely manner. 0.0 [] REGULAR No No 4.0 Jun 19th, 2019 01:49PM Jul 1st, 2021 12:41PM Village Farms
