Sameer is Head of Data, Fusion at Point72. Previously, Sameer was the Chief Operating Officer (COO) at iSentium, an Artificial Intelligence start up that quantifies unstructured social media text for predictive analytics in stock market and brand marketing. In this role, he led key business functions including Sales, Business Development, Fundraising, Engineering and Operations. Prior to this, Sameer was the COO for Global Electronic Trading and Americas Cash Equities business at JPMorgan. He also served in Business Development and Product Management roles at NYSE Technologies. Before that, Sameer worked at Goldman Sachs in multiple roles including Software Development, and Technology Strategy working within Office of Chief Information Officer (CIO).
Sameer received his MBA from Harvard Business School, MS in Information Systems Management from Carnegie Mellon, and BS in Computer Science from National Institute of Technology in India.
Sameer is passionate about role of education in democratization of opportunity. Recently, he spearheaded development of a job training initiative for students selected from 24 colleges in CUNY system. Kickoff workshop brought together investment, data science and technology professionals from Point72 and Google to introduce students to skills required for jobs in Data and Analytics. Sameer also serves on the Steering Committee of Lincoln Center Theater Angels, and lives in NYC with his wife and two daughters.
